Is It Setting You Free?
Written and transcribed by Terry Grant

This is a continuation of a message I have transcribed and edited from a talk Ishvara gave on April 30, 2006. - TG.

Ishvara:

We have a society that says, "Do what you want to do. Be who you want to be. Follow your heart." Those are nice words, but if your "heart" is a program, if "what you want" is a condition, it is not a good idea, because it is not you. It is not your uniqueness. It is an alteration. Self-centeredness is a corruption of your uniqueness.

It is necessary to wake up, to see what is happening. I am not going to tell you to go carry a flag, wave banners, or join marches. That is not the solution either. Perhaps those kinds of activity can bring attention to a situation, but they are trying to solve the problem at the level of the problem.

The New Consciousness, the new being that is taking shape in this world at this moment knows and sees a better way of being, recognizes the power of thought, the power of belief, and the consequences of those thoughts and beliefs. That is why I started this talk by saying that what you take in is programming you, conditioning you, and making up your mind for you. You want to be very conscious of what you are taking in.

It seems innocent, because the programs say, "You need to be entertained." But if you are watching drama, destructive situations or chaos all the time, that is your "diet," that is what you are taking in. When you do that, you keep yourself at a very low frequency.

I realize that the artists, the actors and actresses of the world may not like to hear this, because there is such an addiction to drama. Psychologists say it is "good for you" to see the drama "out there," because it helps you to release your own emotional pressure. Yet where did the pressure come from in the first place? How did it get there? Drama, chaos, and emotional turmoil keep you enslaved to consensus reality and conditions. That is the naked truth, but people don't want to tell you that. The systems and structures that should be helping you gain liberation, instead just pile additional junk on top of you, weighing you down even more.

A great man supposedly once said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Is the so-called "truth" that you are hearing from systems, structures, beliefs, concepts, governments, churches, religions, philosophies and psychologies--is that "truth" setting you free? That is the bottom line question: Is it setting you free?

In waking up, I have come to a level of consciousness and awareness where I have been able to see what is happening in the world. I have been enabled to see the bigger picture, and that sight, that knowing, places a tremendous responsibility upon me to tell the truth, to reveal what I see is happening to the human spirit, to human life, to the core of humanity. I do not like what I see. If humans continue to stay the course, they will cease to exist.

It is foolish to think that humans can keep consuming the planet, poisoning the atmosphere and water, setting off bombs, and killing other people. Puppies have a better sense than that. Puppies have enough sense to crawl out of their bed to poop. Humans don't seem to have that sense. It is shameful! Humans are supposed to be the most intelligent creatures on the planet, yet they are staying with the programming, staying with the conditioning, staying with the beliefs and concepts. They keep "going along with the crowd."

I know, you say: "I do not go along with the crowd." Well, what are you doing NOT to go along with the crowd? What are you taking in? What are you "eating"? What are you feeding yourself; how do you nurture yourself? That is the important thing. If you are taking in junk, you are contributing to the manufacture of junk.
